How long does a typical paving project take?
Most residential driveways are completed in one to two days once site prep is finished. Larger commercial projects can take a week or more depending on square footage and complexity. We always provide a clear timeline during the consultation phase.
What type of asphalt do you use?
We use premium hot-mix asphalt blends specifically formulated for Utah's freeze-thaw cycles. The mix design varies by project—driveways, parking lots, and high-traffic roads each get a blend optimized for their load and climate requirements.
Can you pave during the winter months?
Asphalt paving requires ground and air temperatures above roughly 50°F for proper compaction and curing. In the Wasatch Back, our season typically runs from late spring through early fall. We schedule projects accordingly and can coordinate site prep during the off-season so paving begins as soon as conditions allow.
How should I maintain my new asphalt surface?
Avoid parking heavy vehicles on fresh asphalt for at least a week. We recommend sealcoating after the first year, then every two to three years after that. Keep the surface clear of standing water, fill cracks early, and avoid sharp turns from heavy equipment to extend its lifespan.
What factors affect the cost of a paving project?
The main factors are total square footage, base condition (whether new base material is needed or existing base is adequate), site access and grade, and the asphalt mix required. We provide a transparent, itemized estimate after the site consultation so there are no surprises.
